Improve Your Construction Business with a High-Quality App

Running a construction business requires tracking a large number of materials, workers, bids, and jobs as efficiently as possible. Thankfully, there are many construction phone applications available on the market to streamline this process. Even better, companies that create apps can design high-quality apps that work for a specific construction business.
What Are Construction Apps?
Construction apps are applications that can be run on various types of phones and tablets that track multiple elements of a construction job. Apps of this type are becoming popular on many job sites because they help to improve the efficiency of a building job.
For example, managers will no longer have to continually call employees to let them know when they are building and what type of job they are doing next. Instead, managers can send their employees an update using a construction app.
Which Types of Construction Apps Are Available?
Construction apps come in many different styles and provide a diverse range of benefits. For example, some apps focus on the creation and tracking of job bids. These types of apps provide construction companies with a detailed reminder of the nature of their proposal, who received the plan, and all of the elements of the bid, such as labor and materials.
A large number of apps focus on home and building design. Some of these small, but high-powered, apps take building plans and create a 3D model that builders can use to show their clients. Other design apps include real computer-assisted drafting (CAD) features that allow builders to come up with detailed and high-quality plans on the fly.
Just as importantly, employee-tracking apps provide construction businesses with an easy way of following all of their jobs without being on multiple sites. For example, these apps will let you know what workers are on a job site, when they clocked in for the day, when they took breaks, and when they clocked out. As a result, you can be apprised of their progress at all times.
And some construction apps are designed specifically for a single type of business. For example, roofing apps allow roofers the ability to plan a roof design, track the material costs, and follow bids. While there are a large number of these specialized apps available on the market, many businesses have professional app design companies create new ones just for them.
What Features Are Best in Construction Apps?
When designing construction apps, builders should ask for a broad variety of features that help their app stand out from others. For example, a good app should track the costs of all building materials and be adaptable enough to input the names of dozens of employees. In this way, construction managers and business owners can more easily track their expenses.
Construction apps should also have at least some design capability for the builder. Even employee-tracking apps benefit from a small number of design capabilities, so owners can use their apps for multiple purposes and avoid having to spend too much money investing in various app options.
Lastly, a suitable construction app can link multiple app accounts in a way that allows every employee to input information, track their houses, and adjust some aspects of their work schedule. Connected apps help to make relevant information easy to find for a construction group without oversharing and bogging down workers with excessive details.
If you are interested in designing your own app instead of using one already on the market, contact jācapps today to get more information about the app-design process. We will help you get a high-quality construction application that works right for your company.

3 Push Notifications Tactics Increase F&B Loyalty

Push notifications are core to the mobile app experience. Most mobile users have their phone on them at all times, and the ability to get their attention in a meaningful way can make or break your app. A report from Kahuna, a mobile engagement analytics startup, explains why consumers so often turn off push notifications, and how to combat the dreaded opt-out. Read more to see why food and beverage, above other industries, can specifically benefit from this feature.
According to their data, only 39 percent of social media app users opt in to push notifications in at least one category. One industry that seems to fare better is the food and beverage business with 60 percent of users opting in.
A few strategies can help push that opt-in rate up when you’re creating push notifications:

  1. Make a good first impression: Educate your users on your app’s benefits and note how push notifications will enhance their user experience.
  2. Know when: Timing is everything when it comes to scheduling push notifications. Statistically, the best time to send push notifications is between 11am and 1pm, between 2pm and 6pm, and from 8pm to 9pm.
  3. Maintain the customer relationship: Once users have opted in to push notifications, keep the content relevant, personalized and targeted. Sloppy notifications practices can quickly drive users away from your app completely.

When it comes to the food and beverage industry, half of smartphone owners regularly use restaurant loyalty rewards apps. And, according to survey conducted by the National Restaurant Association, building customer loyalty and increasing customer retention through app-based rewards programs is a successful strategy.
Restaurants can ensure continued use of their loyalty app through regular push notifications reminding customers how close they are to earning the next free item or reaching the next tier of the rewards program. These interactions again personalize the experience and encourage repeat app usage.
So, what are the top types of push notification should you use in order to create customer loyalty?

  1. Location triggered messages

“Our closest restaurant is only 500ft away, open the app and receive a special discount coupon!”

  1. Gifting messages

“Congratulations! You have been with us for three months already, and as a thank you, we’d like to give you a 20% discount on any item from our bestseller list!”

  1. Transactional messages

Based on an activity directly related to customer behavior– such as past purchases, reward level advancement, expiring coupons, etc.
Getting your push notifications strategy right requires planning, good copywriting and testing. Do it right, and you will see increased user retention rates, reduced customer churn.

4 Ways to Engage Your Listeners with Mobile

Your audience is on mobile more than they’re on any other device! And with proper promotion on air, and online, there is no reason you can’t move a significant portion of your audience to use your station’s apps! Here are 4 important ways to engage your listeners on mobile.

Upstream

Our “open mic” feature allows listeners to use the microphone in their mobile device to interact directly with your station. Users can create a message with just a tap, and send it to your station personnel with another tap, creating immediate engagement with the audience. We’ve seen stations use Open Mic to take requests, or call in to talk shows.
The user can also send photos or videos. One of our clients uses Upstream to boost contest involvement. The station wanted their listener to send in a certain picture in order to win a prize and upstream made this so easy.

Push Notifications

We all get push messages on our phones all day, whether it be news alerts, sports scores or traffic updates. By sending your audience a push message, you can tell them what’s on your station, give them the inside scoop on station events and even pass along breaking news.
Instead of waiting for users to open the app, use push notifications to entice the user to open and use the app. Those messages might include popular app content, event reminders and promotions.

Social Media

One of the biggest benefits of integrating your social media presence into the app is that your listeners can post directly in the app! Let your users check out your morning show’s latest post, or picture, without ever leaving the app. You can display your social feeds separately – Twitter and Facebook – or with feeds from the station and a variety of hosts all pulled together in one social timeline.

Guides

The V4 app from jācapps has the ability to provide users a local directory to businesses or attractions. The guide contains a collection of locations, provided by your station, and can display that collection as an easy to scan list, or it can map those locations, providing one tap turn-by-turn directions. If you have a rock station, maybe you provide your listeners a local bar guide. An AC station could provide a directory of family-friendly activities. These guides are a great way to create another revenue stream for your station.

Do You Think Mobile Advertising Is Hot?

Did you know… Mobile Advertising is expanding greatly in small businesses?
In recent studies, we see how the mobile industry is expanding from traditional media companies to small businesses. Radio, television and newspaper companies are increasing their spending and options on the fast growing ad channel. However, through the expansion of spending the majority of these budgets will be mobile pure-play companies.
Through research from BIA LMC survey report and Inside Radio, it is shown that 56.5%, nearly six in ten small businesses are using advertising through mobile, where just 2 years ago we were only at 22.9% of small businesses.
Local advertising on mobile devices sold by pure-play mobile providers will hit $19 billion this year, according to BIA. If you take a look at the $3.1 billion being sold by traditional media companies and the 2018 local mobile total tops out at $22.1 billion. BIA forecasts and predicts hat figure will grow to $38.7 billion in 2022.
Does your media company provide mobile advertising options for clients? If you need help with a mobile media app contact our sales team at sales@jacapps.com .

Check out this chart below to see the location-targeted mobile ad spend from 2017 to 2022!

Taking what we can see about mobile and how quickly it is expanding in the media advertising channels, we can take a look at how it will impact the radio industry and mobile advertising. Inside Radio touches on how digital radio execs and mobile technology providers agree that radio apps are now full of advanced features in order to help advertisers.
Small business advertisers like the reach of mobile, as well as its customer and location-based targeting capabilities, BIA touches on how not only are small businesses increasing their use of mobile, but how they are increasing their spend on the channel itself. Mark Fratrick, Chief Economist and SVP, BIA Advisory Services states, “The most rapidly growing media channel for local advertising is mobile, followed by desktop advertising.”
With that being said, we can see that mobile is opening up the opportunity to expand investments in mobile apps as well as websites. This is because of the advanced technology features that we have today, which allows broadcasters to deliver more targeted ad opportunities. Having these opportunities companies helps better compete in the red-hot mobile ad space.
For example, check out some of our mobile media apps here.

Fratrick also states, “Mobile has become a preferred platform for the advertising dollar because of its ability to capture audiences of all ages based precisely on where they are and what they are doing, at any given moment.”
Through the apps and new technology features, the radio industry especially can deliver mobile ads targeted by location, demographics such as gender and age, and behavioral and contextual targets. As well as, the advancements such as capturing device IDs and gathering information on users from registration, radio stations can direct ads a more specific target audience.
Overall, the next-generation mobile apps are offer major possibilities and advertising advancements. As Inside Radio shares, “Using data from the apps, radio sales execs can go after new clients and also prove out to existing clients where they should direct more ad dollars. Stations can also sell local businesses on sponsoring sections of the app, such as push notifications with sponsored content or even branded digital exclusive audio streams.”
